Colchester CAP Debt Centre is part of Christians Against Poverty, an award winning, national debt counselling charity offering free help and advice through a network of debt centres based in the local church. CAP offers hope and a solution to people in debt through its top-quality, in-depth service, as well as financial education through the CAP Money Course and helping people back into employment through CAP Job Clubs. CAP Money Course is a revolutionary money management course that teaches people budgeting skills and a simple, cash-based system that really works. This course will help anyone to get more in control of their finances, so they can budget, save and prevent debt.are run regularly at various churches in Colchester.

CAP Job Club is designed to help people to gain the confidence and skills to find employment, Regular courses combine one-to-one consultations, group support and practical sessions on topics such as CV writing and interview techniques.
