Purpose Statement: SGBC exists to Support, Encourage, Enable, and Kindle Christian mission activity and cooperation in, and to bless, the Borough of Colchester in the name of Jesus Christ.
This purpose statement may be explained as follows:
- Support: through prayer, practical involvement, publicity and promotion of events and activities
- Encourage: profiling what God is doing
- Enable: connecting like-minded believers
- Kindle: sensing where God may be initiating new mission activity and seeking to facilitate it being fanned into flame
Mission Statement: To enable Christian Churches and Agencies in the Borough of Colchester to work together so that the world may believe in Jesus.
Seeking God’s Blessing for Colchester is an ecumenical group which seeks to bring Christians and Christian leaders together to support and encourage one another and as its name suggests seek God’s blessing and will for Colchester. The work of the group is not simply “church based” but seeks to nurture, encourage and develop opportunities for Chrisitan service to the Borough.
